Common questions

Do I need experience?

No. Many Helston students begin with no martial arts background. We teach you everything from the basics up.

What should I wear?

Shorts and a T-shirt are ideal. You’ll train barefoot on the mats, but bringing slides helps when moving around KRH. If you already own gloves or wraps, feel free to bring them — but they’re not required.

WAKT also has a small shop with gloves, wraps, shin guards and WAKT kit available whenever you need equipment.

Is sparring mandatory?

No. Sparring is optional and only introduced once you feel confident and ready to try it.
