July Interclub WAKT Fight Team

What’s on in August…

Welcome to the WAKT August Newsletter.

Things are all still happening as we head into the last part of Summer. As you’ll see in the articles below we have now changed the Grading date, and already started taking names for this. A great opportunity for everyone to improve their game and get that recognised level of achievement.
As you can see in the image above, we’re currently building a nice strong team of competitors from Fighter Squad, everyone did so well at the recent Interclub, and we’ve got so much more in the pipeline, so get that kettle on and let’s have a look at what’s next ☕

New Grading Date

Taking on board feedback on the previously planned Grading date, it was a no brainer to push the date on so that it didn’t clash with potential holiday dates.
The new and improved date is now Sunday 25th September, so even more time to sharpen those skills.
Pre Grading is Sunday 18th September, 11:00am start.

We have already started taking names for this.

Time Table Changes

Always looking to improve the flow and keep things fresh, we’ve got a new tweak to the existing time table. In reality it’s just a session swap out – The Power Pads is moving from 7pm Wednesday to 6pm Thursday, and the Book a Bag session that was at that time replaces the Pads, so moved to Wednesday at 7pm.
Changes start on Wednesday 10th August.

Fight Shows & Inter-Gym

Obviously the September Grading will be on everyone’s radar, but we’re also currently arranging an ‘Inter-Gym’ sparring session with PK Muay Thai near Penzance. This will be aimed at those that would like to get out of the comfort zone of sparring with their team mates but still in a friendly environment. Looking at mid August, hopefully date confirmation soon.
As anticipated, the Hybrid/Plymouth show has now changed date to 8th October. Now we have a firm date, we will be taking names of those that would like fight. Our next and last show we attend in 2022 will probably be Carn Brea in December.

Thailand

Mr Al & Elly are back to Thailand at the end of August for 2 weeks.
If there’s anything you’d like brought back, please just let us know. The intention is to bring as much stuff as we can carry, including goodies such as Thai soap etc, so not just Muay Thai kit.
We will of course be keeping in touch with everyone on the group chat, and all sessions will be running as normal.
